 | Flambards | Christina, as a young girl, is sent off to live with her unpleasant uncle and his two sons Mark and William at Flambards, a decaying country house where her fierce uncle spends what little money he has left only on horses and hunting. Christina however discovers that she enjoys riding and hunting, once she has been taught by kind and compassionate stable-hand Dick. But the two brothers are united only in their dislike of their bullying father, with Mark seeming to follow in his fathers brutal and entitled footsteps while sensitive William hates riding and would rather spend his time learning to fly aeroplanes. Christina, however, is heiress to a fortune, once she turns 21. | Great story, lovely writing. |
