A woman is abducted from a shopping centre and disappears, then some police officers do some stuff. Some other attack happens.

I didn't finish this. Got very confused by the large number of similar characters, none of who I could keep clear in my head. I wondered if these characters are in a series so other readers might know them better? Anyway, I gave up - too much to read, too little time.
