Small Bomb at Dimperley
Corporal Valentine Vere-Thissett is de-mobbed after WW2 and returns to his family home, the vast but falling-down Dimperley House. His older brother was killed in the war, so he finds himself now Sir Valentine, responsible for the house, estate and everyone who lives there. With no cash, but with the help of Zena, a London evacuee still living at the house with her young child, he finds innovative solutions to solve his family's problems.
Fantastic. Really good story, really well written. Lissa Evans of course, also wrote Wed Wabbit, a family favourite from a few years ago.

Their Finest
A young woman from Wales ends up in London during the Blitz writing dialogue for a movie based on the true story of twin sisters who take part in the Mosquito armada evacuation of Dunkirk. A supporting role is taken by ageing screen star Ambrose who believes he should still be a leading man. Romance, humour and despair...
Excellent, really enjoyed this. Then we all watched the film and the girls both enjoyed it although possibly found it a bit slow.
